Is Stress Stealing Your Energy?
Do you feel tired and stressed more often than not?
Are you noticing that you’re gaining weight easily and struggling to lose it?
Are you having trouble sleeping or experience low energy during the day?
Are you feeling the effects of autoimmune disease?
These can be signs that your levels of cortisol, a stress hormone, are out of balance.
Chronic stress is a big culprit. Our bodies release stress hormones, such as cortisol, as part of the “fight or flight” response. In response to chronic stress our bodies produce more cortisol than our bodies are meant to and this can potentially be dangerous for health. Overproduction of cortisol over a prolonged period of time leads to adrenal burn out and leaky gut.
Release stress daily! This can be easier said than done but chronic stress is one of the biggest reasons why cortisol production levels stay high.
Practice daily meditation, mindfulness, deep breathing, and yoga.
Get out in nature. Walk in nature at least 20 minutes a day. Take in all the sights, smells and sounds around you. Your body and mind will be happy that you did.
Write in a journal to process your feelings and experiences each day or simply write a few words each day describing what you are grateful for.
