Hashimotos Hypothyroidism - Body Systems Disorder

"Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism is not a disease of the thyroid, but it affects it in a big way." Andrea Nakamara

This statement is profound and empowering. If you have been diagnosed with Hashimoto's there are strategies to find freedom from it. It comes down to addressing the body systems that are out of balance so that your body can begin again to support the function of your thyroid in an optimal way.

So what systems am I talking about? Most importantly I am referring to your immune system. With Hashimoto's your immune system is on overdrive due to a leaky gut and environmental triggers that are putting your immune system on overdrive. Your gut and all your skins are your first line of defense against unwanted substances and critters in your body.

Healing your gut is key to finding freedom from Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism.

Freedom from Hashimotos!

When your gut is inflamed and damaged by sustained stress and the resulting sustained cortisol, it gets more permeable than it should be. You can think about it like having an open sore on your arm and if you kept putting dirt on that open sore you would likely get an infection. This is because that first line of protection (your skin) can't protect you in the way it would if it were not damaged. With a leaky gut your immune system can't rely on the gut skin (so to speak) to protect you against pathogens, bacteria, viruses, parasites and even food that is not broken down in a way that your cells can accept.

This is where food sensitivities come into play. If you have leaky gut, you have food sensitivities and you need to know what those sensitivities are, remove them from your diet for a period of 6 months while bringing in other healing practices and gut healing foods. Removing the offending foods is like taking the dirt off of the open sore on your arm. Supplements and healing foods are like the salve you might use to heal an open wound. Stress mastery practices like meditation, self-love, yoga, and more are like the love you might relieve from a loving caretaker when you were a child and had an injury or illness of some kind. The difference is that you won't always need another person to give you this love and care, you can find it in yourself given the right guidance, education and practice.

This is where I come in. If you work with me I will provide customized guidance, education, plenty of practice and accountability to support your wellness journey.
